We have been fortunate over the years to visit dear friends in the Abacos several times It was one of the most beautiful places on earth, with the warmest, most welcoming people. The recent images from the islands showing Hurricane Dorian's aftermath are beyond belief, and though it's hard to tell from those images, these places have names and rich histories. Our friend, Ossie, still lives in Treasure Cay which is near Marsh Harbor. We haven't heard from him but know him to be resourceful and helpful to his fellow Bahamians. Until there are clear and reliable channels through which to provide support, I'm at a loss for what to do, so I'm posting this collection of vivid memories of our 2017 trip to the Abacos with our friends Duncan and Judith Scollon, in the hope to show the beauty and grace of this place and motivate others to help the people and the land begin the long road to recovery. I will post links to support these efforts as soon as they become available.
